The PTHCO laboratory is a fully equipped laboratory capable of testing Physical Coatings Attributes, Application Properties, and Performance Properties covering a wide breadth of coatings; including Architectural and Industrial Coatings both waterborne and solvent based. The laboratory can develop customer specific formulations as well as general formulation guidelines to the market.

The state of the art building products laboratory located in City of Industry, CA offers technical resources to our broad range of clients. This lab is capable of providing strength testing, benchmark testing, flow testing, water absorption, competitive studies, launch packages, formulation consulting, including regional starting point formulas and custom formulations. The Lab has temperature and RH Chambers, QUV exposure testing, and rheological characterization.

The current scope of the P.T. Hutchins Green Building Laboratory is to facilitate the participation of our customer-partners in the United States Green Building Council's (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building certification system. While LEED certification applies to projects and not products, product manufacturers, suppliers and contractors can still participate by providing builders with a means of materials and resource stewardship.
Being committed to practical solutions, we at P.T. Hutchins evaluate the compatibility, performance, benefit and cost-in-use of raw materials which have potential, when used in building materials, for LEED credit contribution. Beyond the laboratory, maintaining current knowledge and understanding of the LEED system can prove quite useful to our customer-partners as we help increase LEED awareness and provide guidance on how to get involved.
